The Pro Wildlife provides the support in several categories for the protection of gorillas: since 10 years the Company is supporting different “refuge stations” in Cameroon, where nearly 200 orphan baby monkeys are medically treated and pepped up. The animal parents are victims of the cruel "bush meat” poaching.
Wildlife funded the operation of raids in Cameroun and Congo to reveal illegal wild animal traders. In May 2008 Pro Wildlife reached the Convention for the conservation of biodiversity (English Convention on Biological Diversity, CBD) which now forces strict hunting laws and a more consistent enforcement . In the EC rank, Pro Wildlife is fighting against illegal Wood import.
The Monkey protection project has been distinguished with first price of the Yves Rocher environmental foundation.
Munich, 19 January 2009: The year of 2009 was called “The Year of the Gorilla” by the United Nations, to draw the attention worldwide to the dramatic situation of the hominid apes. The Berlin-based advertising agency “Aimaq Rapp Stolle” has created an Pro Wildlife curious and unusual ad: the image shows a majestic gorilla invoking help to donate for rare wild animals: his only protection is an armor of Euro coins. The Gorilla is the display of the campagne “Your money protects», demonstrating threatened species in all their beauty and pride –showing that even such a small contribution can help improve the protection of wild animals.
